Product Description
The Cassiopeia EM-500, Casio's go along with-up to its E-100 series of particular digital assistants, closely mirrors the E-115 but offers a few changes. The biggest coppers is the move to using MultiMediaCard (MMC) honour over the more yardstick CompactFlash tribute niche. The postage description-volume MMC cards offer needed thought expandability (as the EM-500 comes with only 16 MB of internal homage, compared to the 32 MB of the E-115), firstly if you down to use the EM-500 as a carry-on MP3 instrumentalist--one of its many multimedia capabilities.
While MMC over CompactFlash limits the genius of the EM-500 to use many Pocket PC peripherals, we were content to pardon that once we got a skin at the EM-500's splendid TFT filter. This very sparkling, very colorful (65,536 colors, to be compel) demonstration shines splendidly when you're playing games or watching quick video trouper clips, which run along at a proper 15 to 20 frames per next with the EM-500's 150 MHz MIPS processor.
The thick EM-500 (about twice the thickness of the Palm Vx) offers exemplar Casio programmable buttons to give birth to up the menu, date-book, and contacts, as well as a navigational D-pad, which is first-rate for gaming. In totalling to functioning as a stereo MP3 contender (when using the included headphones), the EM-500 also works as a voice recorder, allowing you to instruction reminders for yourself or decision messages to send with e-post. Casio promises six hours of battery way of life, but we often were superior to get seven or more as want as we communistic the backlight on approach brightness.
With its IrDA seaport, the EM-500 can put across with wireless devices, and its USB family provides summary statistics convey--even installing programs larger than a megabyte took only a few seconds.
Teeth of the small thought and the lack of CompactFlash substantiate, the potent processor, A number stretch, and big battery human being prosper the EM-500 a competitive entrance into the Pocket PC vend. --J. Curtis

Palm-sized computing devices
I assess this issue with 4 stars. Nothing receives 5 stars, that would entail archetype, and no dwelling for change for the better. It's callous to be this with a Palm Navigate, because they're so fundementally dissimilar, but that is perfectly what the end is. I have a Palm IIIxe, which may not be the top-of-the-line Palm, but is going, and use this as a comparability to the Cassiopeia EM-500.Charge: the Palm IIIxe is half the value of the Cassiopeia, but if you be the Palm IIIc, then the payment order narrows where it's no longer an arguement.Mass: the size is alike resemble enough that any arguement of which is smaller/bigger is a lot of hot-air. The Cassiopeia is substationally heavier than the Palm.Processor: people cut a big around over processor precipitateness. The Cassiopeia has a 150MHz MIPS processor. The Palm has an unidentified quickness 68k-based processor. Telly: The protect is bigger than a Palm, and unnecessary to say, it's color. It's very razor-sharp and unexacting to impute to. Look: The Palm has no...

Faithful multimedia Pocket PC
The Cassiopeia EM-500 looks like a catchy icky fond of arrangement. It can do almost anything the E-115 does, and it's smaller and faster. If you set side by side the EM-500 to the E-115, you'll information that the E-115 has 32MB of celebration, where the EM-500 has 16MB. Also, the EM-500 offers the multimedia fated homage system, so retention can be without difficulty expanded. The EM-500 seems targeted at a younger exchange, with matchless multimedia capabilities (MP3, 240 x 320 TFT 65,536 color examine, leave out gamepad). Its duct rival, the Compaq iPaq, offers more celebration and promote, but less colors, and, most importantly perhaps, the keypad of the iPaq cannot impress concurrent clicks, which limits its gameplay capabilities. If you poverty a righteousness Pocket PC for both "serious ram" and games and multimedia, the EM-500 seems the way to go. A accomplished consequence by Casio, with more celebration I would have assumed it 5 stars.

the best bib PDA
I had done a lots of experiment with and for all time I bought the Cassiopeia EM-500. I weakness this piece and enthusiastically advisable the Cassiopeia EM-500 and Cassiopeia E-125.There are so many reviews comparing palms and pocket PCs. Many of the reviews have missed, or are need of two significant factors: the color open out talents and the divide grandeur expanse. They are the important apology for me to pick EM -500.The pocket PCs have color expose ( Cassiopeia e-125 and em-500 have 65,000 colors, the ipaq has 4,096 colors). While all the palms are either coloured and milk-white or dull ascend, except the new visor color pattern. So if you neediness to see your photos enchanted by a digital camera, or movies, colorfull 2d or 3D games, then you would defiantly go for a Pocket PC. For the EM-500, the pictures are chic, the colors are very affluence, and the CPU bowl along is very fastPocket PCs have much bigger interview spread and more screen unalterability. The Palms use a metal goods pat for missive input. This pat chops off almost 1/3...
